Police Officers Arrested over Expenses Fiddle - Daily Mail (May 2009)

ICO Guidence on Disclosure of Information to Private Investigators (April 2009)

The Information Commissioners Office has published a Good Practice note explaining what public and private sector organisations need to consider when they are asked to disclose information to a private investigator. While not obliging an organisation to release any personal information about an individual, this goes a long way to clarifying what Data Controllers should do when co-operating with investigators who have a lawful and legitimate reason for making a request.
